M A N Y T H A N K S !!
Looking out on this cold winter day, it makes me happy to look back at last years Little Green Festival, even though it was the hottest day on the planet to hold an outdoor event! Yet, everyone of the amazing people that showed up to share their piece of this intricate puzzle (to solve the problems brought to us by global warming) stayed until the very end, talking and demonstrating their natural solutions to the many people that braved the heat. Guesstimates placed the crowds that came that day near 1200.
Our conscious, devoted organic and local natural food restaurants, grocers and bakers provided yummy, healthy food all day, and well into the night to the tunes of local/famous bands of the mostly Blue Grass persuasion. Bayley Kate and the Bluegills put together 14 hours of music on Saturday to entertain the brave souls that came out in the heat to learn about ways to
green their own lives. Sunday there was more great music both morning and afternoon, played under the shade of beautiful sprawling trees with warm breezes. Banjos playing, babies sleeping, people dancing. It was a mellow way to close the 2008 Little Green Festival. Thank you for all the great music, and all that you did to bring it to us, Bayley, Jim and Kelly Hartman. You amaze me year after year!
I was so proud of every "vendor" that participated in the festival and brought their passions, their products, their causes, demonstrations of many ways to green our lives, and all with such enthusiasm. Many talented artists joined us, and their art was so varied and beautiful. I was quite inspired. And, there were many with examples of ways to be good to the body, our most primary environment to consider. If we are "green" with our body, we will naturally choose wisely for the environment. We recycled plastic, glass and aluminum, thanks to Chris of Sunflower Recycling.
All in all, ya'll did Great!!!
It wouldn't have been possible without the help of the many hands and hearts that volunteered to make the festival come together. Thank you one and all for the many hours and talents that you devoted to make the Little Green Festival the best "grassroots" green festival around!
There is a video from Outpost Pictures that was shot at the festival last year. Click into their Green Internetwork,
